Deli item thrown by activist supposedly shattered and created yellow spot on border agent, legal proceedings reveal

Officers interacting with civilians on city street
An individual, eventually detained for allegedly assaulting law enforcement with a deli product, communicates with Border Patrol and FBI agents.

A American border officer has declared in court he could detect through his ballistic vest the force of a deli item launched at him by a capital city activist, who has gone on trial for criminal charge.

Customs and Border Patrol agent the officer informed the court panel the sandwich "burst all over him" and he "detected the aromatic vegetables and yellow sauce" on his uniform.

Neither side disputes that Sean Dunn, thirty-seven, did in fact hurl obscenities and a deli-style sandwich at officers deployed by the administration to monitor the federal district in August.

The occurrence was recorded on recording and spread across the internet, making Mr Dunn a representation of dissent in the federal district to the administration.

Federal attorneys originally tried to obtain serious criminal counts against the accused, but a legal panel declined to charge him.

The administration's sending of armed forces to the federal district this season generated outrage from some of the DC citizens, who viewed it as a political use of the troops.

According to charging documents, Mr Dunn came near a police contingent at about late evening on 10 August, referring to them "fascists" and exclaiming: "Why are you here? Your presence is unwanted in my city!"

The legal proceeding observed a reenactment from Mr Lairmore on Tuesday as he gave evidence against the accused.

"I sensed it through my protective gear," he stated of the food's collision, adding that an aromatic fragment dangled from his police radio and mustard discolored his shirt.

Mr Dunn's legal counsel, the defense attorney, said in her opening statement that hurling the deli product was a "non-threatening act that did not, could not, create physical damage".

But prosecutor the prosecutor argued the accused must be considered responsible.

"No matter who you are, you should not hurling objects at others because you're angry," Mr Parron declared.

Following the reported incident became public, Mr Dunn was dismissed from his job as a law firm employee in the Department of Justice.
