Travelers aboard British Airways will soon use quick connectivity during flights free of charge following a recent agreement with SpaceX's communications provider.
No-cost and Fast Connectivity for All
British Airways announced that the free, “reliable and lightning-fast” internet service from the satellite provider becomes available to passengers in coach, premium economy, and premium cabins as of the coming month.
Broad Implementation Across Several Carriers
The umbrella company for the airline, International Airlines Group, announced it had finalized an partnership with SpaceX to provide wifi coverage across more than 500 aircraft across their airlines, including the Irish airline, Iberia, and Vueling.
Smooth Wifi from Boarding to Landing
BA explained that this implementation of this service was part of a £7bn “upgrade” initiative and would deliver lag-free connectivity coverage for flyers starting at boarding to landing, including when in flight above oceans and isolated areas.
